Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is having a blessed start to the week!
Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending Cocktails with Claire, hosted by Claire Sulmers of the Fashion Bomb Daily. It was a fabulous event, and my friends and I had a great time!
It was held at Mal Maison, which is a cute lounge spot in Georgetown. Outside of the venue was a mini carpet with a backdrop set up with the Fashion Bomb Daily logo, as well as Toyota’s, who sponsored the event. Of course I had to take a photo before entering!

I had ordered this white dress to wear to the event, but when I actually got the dress, it was a little too big at the top. Saturday I spent the morning/afternoon taking blog pictures, and then got a flat tire in between then and getting ready for the event. So I had to throw a last minute outfit together with this Rachel Roy dress that I’ve worn once before. Thankfully it turned out pretty cute!
The venue set up was very cute, with seating downstairs, as well as a beauty bar. The bar and vendors were located upstairs. The ticket came with two drinks of your choice. We all decided to try a Fashion Bombshelltini first (I think that was the name). It tasted great.
We then browsed the various vendor tables. They had a lot of jazzy accessories and clothing to choose from.
Claire came up and mingled with attendees when she arrived, and she was super friendly and personable. I actually attended Cocktails with Claire two years ago, and she was the same way. It’s always nice to meet public figures whose work you admire and respect, and find out that they are just as awesome in “real life” too. My camera started acting up when I got the chance to speak with Claire, so I had to settle for a cell phone pic with her. This isn’t one of my favorite pictures of myself, but she looks gorgeous in it!
Hors d’oeuvres were being passed around during the vent, and they were quite tasty. I wasn’t able to snap any pictures of my favorite option, the mini rack of lamb, because there was usually only one to three pieces left by the time the plate came around to me, lol.
DJ Kitty Cash was one the ones and twos, and she kept the party going with plenty of great hits from my high school and college days. The atmosphere was very fun and fancy, with tons of fashionable guests.
Each guest got a gift bag at the end that had a compact mirror that lit up from Toyota (super cool), an amazing cupcake, a full size container of Motions pre-wash detangling butter, and cards from the various vendors of the event.
I’m so glad I was able to attend Cocktails with Claire again this year, and can’t wait for the next one!
