Cuba Travel Style: Burgundy Striped Romper

Happy Wednesday!!! It usually takes me a few weeks to get around to posting pictures from my various trips whenever I go out of the country, and in keeping up with that pattern, today I’m posting my first Cuba ootd. I’ll do better one of these days, I really will. I have a couple more ootds to roll out, and then I’m going to do a summary post of my trip with tips on where to stay, explore, eat, etc.

The first day in Cuba we went to this really cute restaurant called “1830”. It was a large, beautiful building with an even more beautiful view of the water. We sat outside, and its gardens were very elaborate, with these cave-like structures that were perfect for exploring and of course photo ops! Their live band was also warming up for their show later that night.

After lunch at the restaurant, we headed over to the Cristo de la Habana statue, which is a similar, but simpler version of Cristo Redentor (see my Rio post about it here). From the Cristo statue, we cabbed it over to Castillo de San Carlos de la Cabana to watch the cannon ceremony, but we somehow missed it. We did however walk around and take in more beautiful waterfront city views before our nighttime festivities.

I went with this striped romper for Day 1 because I’m into stripes right now, and I was moving before the trip, so I packed a lot of quick and easy pieces versus planning out any detailed ‘fits. I did intentionally plan the burgundy monochrome look when I noticed my Coach purse matched my romper. RIP to that choker that you can see gradually losing it’s shape and unraveling from the first pic to the last pic, lol :-/

Love the laid back look. Sorry about your choker, lol. I will have to remember that restaurant when I make plans to go to Cuba.
