Since it’s almost Valentine’s Day, I channeled my inner Kardashian and pulled this look on out for date night inspiration. I considered being festive, and doing a traditional red or pink outfit, but I went with this look, because it is just as fun and sassy. Plus I had a subtle red lip, as well as berry colored nails, so at least a little bit of V-Day color was incorporated into the look. 😉
I had been searching for a super cute, long sleeved matching crop top/midi skirt for a while, and stumbled across this tan and black knit one at Macy’s. I already knew that it would pair well with the camel coat that I recently purchased, as well as my nude pumps, for a full on neutral, monochromatic look. This outfit is perfect for a cooler weather date night, because it shows a little skin, but covers you up as well. I love midi skirts/dresses, because they highlight/create curves, while lengthening you out. I kept my accessories minimal, but of course they had to be gold. My clutch wasn’t photographed, but it was tan as well.
My cousin actually photographed me in this look the day after I was in my friend Mel’s wedding, so I still had my left over curls/waves. SN: Her wedding was gorgeous, and I’m going to post about it, so look out for that post soon! In case you’re wondering why I’m prancing around in an open coat baring my legs and midriff in the dead of winter, we were in NC, and the sun was shining brightly at the time. Don’t get me wrong, it was still pretty cold, just not as cold as it is here in DC. I did it for the blog, lol. I’m actually wearing this in DC with my coat closed and a scarf, and will absolutely not be standing outside for long!
I had all of these other shots with a different background that I wanted to use for this post, but when I reviewed the pictures, sun spots were literally right on my face/body! This shot came out kind of cool though:
So, are y’all ready for Valentine’s Day? And do you know what you’ll be wearing?
