So according to my calendar, last Friday was the first official day of spring. However, the weather here in DC is like “nah”, lol. But I do appreciate the occasional sunny, slightly warmer days that show up a few days a week.
Long line cardigans and coats ruled winter, and the good news is, they’ll hold strong in the spring as well (with more lightweight materials and colors, of course). I came across this cozy cardigan in Macy’s back in February and hadn’t thought about actually wearing it until a couple of Sundays ago. It was about 55 degrees outside, but the wind was unrelentless!!! I was freezing, and struggling to pose for pictures in between the gusts! I promise my curls were popping in real life, but all you’re going to see in this post is wind blown hair, lol. :-/
I specifically wanted to wear an outfit that was casual and plain in order for the focus to be on my jazzy new shoes! So I went for a neutral look and wore a white tank under my cardigan (I really love how white and gray look together), and these slim fitting olive pants. I had been searching for a cute pair of pants like these for what seems like years, and eventually gave up on the search. Then I literally stumbled across these right after I got out of the fitting room at H&M, so I grabbed them and twirled right back on in there! 😀
Let’s talk about these shoes real quick. Don’t you just love them?! They reminded me of the fringe Louboutins celebs like Rihanna and the Kardashians were rocking a few years back. When I saw them, I just had to have them! I tend to wait for shoes to go on sale for a little less before purchasing them, but once I saw that Steve Madden was giving 20% percent off plus free shipping on orders $75 and up, AND I could get cash back from shopping for them via Ebates first, I was on it!
*UPDATE – So as I was adding links to my outfit, I noticed that my Fringly sandals are sold out in every color except for black on Steve Madden’s site. Luckily, Macy’s has them, they have free shipping on orders over $99, and they are on Ebates as well! Whoop! 🙂
So as you may have noticed, I’ve been on a super neutral kick lately! Anyone else there with me??

Loving everything about this look. I’ve been on the lookout for some transitional cardigans and tanks too. I found a good cardigan that I think will become my favorite, so now I’m on the lookout for more! Speaking of H&M, I haven’t been there in a while; sounds like I need to make a trip! I’ve also been updating my summer shoe-wear! Those sandals are the business and it sounds like you got a good deal! I’ve gone a little crazy shopping for the summer, so I’m putting myself on time out, unless it’s jewelry! I like your style though…werk!! Lol. #BLMGirl
