It’s Tuesday! Another day closer to the weekend! The weather is finally starting to break the 60s here, and I’ll take it. This is perfect weather for me to present you with my new kimono style spring trench coat! I had first started to notice these trench coats last year, and I thought they were cute, but kind of thin, and less structured than most classic trench coats. Then I started to notice them on more and more of the various bloggers I follow, and I was like, I think I must have one for myself! The fact that these jackets are one of the top trends of the season also played a part in me going ahead and copping one. I was really debating on whether to get the one that I ended up with, or a different one that I tried on in H&M. The H&M one was a little more expensive, and a little less fitted, so I went with this one. Depending on how many layers you have on underneath, I’d say you can wear this jacket in 50-70 degree weather. I actually wore this outfit on a sunny day in NC, so I tied the belt that comes on the jacket in the back, versus wearing it buttoned and tied in the front.
Oh! I almost forgot to talk about my jeans! Asos did me well. Ripped denim is probably all I’ll be rocking all spring and summer long. This will be my spring uniform for brunch, dinner, and nights out: light jacket, cropped top, ripped denim, and heels.
What has been your spring go to item so far? For anyone who is still trying to figure it out, I think I may do a spring trends post and break down the essentials and where to get them!
Black crop top, similar here, Black ripped jeans, here, Trench coat here (sold out online, should be available in store though), similar here, Shoes, similar here and here, Purse, here, Earrings similar here, Sunnies, similar here

Love this simple but sophisticated look….I want some jeans like that! Thanks for the info!
Thanks Kar! Definitely check out Asos!
I love an all black look and this trench is very flattering. Have you worn it closed? Also are the Asos jeans true to size. I want to order them but I’ve never purchased jeans online.
Thanks Toya! I have worn it closed, it looks great that way as well! Asos jeans are true to size, and they may run a little bigger or smaller depending on the material. These jeans I’d say are definitely true to size, they are fitted, but not too tight, and have some stretch to them. Whatever European size you normally wear is what you should order (mine are a 25W, and I think 32L). Also, I LOVE Asos because they have an easy, free return process, if for some reason something doesn’t work out! Just open the package really neatly when you get it, and they include a return label and sticky material to return it in the same package. I just returned a kimono, and they’ll email you to let you know they received it, and then it takes maybe a couple of weeks for them to credit the money back to your card.
Adorbs! Loves the jeans! Asos for the win per ush! Loves the pop of color on the lip as well! My go to spring items so far have been ripped jeans and wide brimmed hats!
Thanks Ash! Yes, so glad you were here to advise me on the size! Yes, love ripped jeans and I totes wanna try a wide brimmed hat out!
Love the look, once I get my trench out the cleaners I’ll def be exploring some spring looks. Love the sandal combo with it as well. #BLM

Very nice! I like how you added the cream color to the black to make it lighter for Spring. I think I’ll try that with my black wardrobe pieces. Thanks for the inspiration!
